Welcome. My name is Tim Weninger, I am a graduate student in Computer Science at Kansas State University. My plan is to graduate with my Master of Science in December of 2008, and solve the problems of the universe. Then I'll move on to a PhD school at a university yet to be determined. After graduate school I hope to find a job as a software engineer or teach computer science.
They know enough who know how to learn. - J. AdamsCurrently, I work as a research assistant for Dr. William Hsu at the Laboratory for Knowledge Discovery in Databases at Kansas State University, furthuring the advancement of artificial intellegence. Also, I am Dr. Schmidt's graduate teaching assistant for CIS 200, and I help Dr. Hsu teach some of the CIS560 labs every now and again.
I recently married Jordan (Vieyra) Weninger on August 4th, 2007, in Hutchinson, KS. She is attending K-State also, and will graduate in May 2008, with a degree in Music Education and a bunch of other degrees.
I find time to stay involved in several activities on campus and abroad. My resume will describe me as a Student Senator, Faculty Senate Representative (yeah I vote on the faculty senate), Engineering Executive Council Director, ACM executive member, and so on. But I really have fun when I spend time with Jordan, watch movies or converse with friends.
In my limited spare time I disassemble things and fix them, even if they're not broken.
I also keep fairly involved in politics. I consider myself a constitutional moderate, Jeffersonian Republican, modern day conservative. I have written or adapted some essays on the subject. "Americanism" is most recent. Read it and let me know what you think.
I respond fairly quickly to emails sent to weninger@ksu.edu, and I always have my cell phone on at 620.664.7020. I maintain an office in Nichols Hall on the South end of K-State's Manhattan campus, and I can sometimes be contacted with Microsoft's instant messenger system via tweninger@hotmail.com. But don't send email to that address, I never check it. You'll also find me on Facebook and LiveJournal, but I have an aversion to blog-sites, so I rarely check my accounts.
